One to Watch: Nott's FC Star Elya Jasper

Elya Jasper is a game-changer.

Elya Jasper's clutch play has catapulted Nott's Forest FC GU16 to a spot in the Round of 16 of the Cal South National Cup.

Jasper scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over the Crescenta Valley Soccer Club, which advanced Coach David Banks' team to the Round of 32. Once there, Jasper scored the equalizer against Arsenal -- a match Nott's went on to win, 2-1 -- to push her team deeper into the elimination rounds.

Jasper, a sophomore at Cathedral Catholic, has played with Nott's Forest for three seasons and has become a regular starter. Her technical abilities allow her to gain that yard or two she needs to either pass, shoot or combine with her fellow teammates.

"Her versatility makes her a coach's dream as she can play center, right and left midfield and forward. Her goals from midfield in the previous rounds earned the team a Round of 16 berth," Banks said.

Jasper and her team will play Saturday, May 9 @ 10:00am in Temecula.
