GU 97 Red Wins Carlsbad Cup

On the hot and humid weekend of July 18-20, the GU 12 97 Red team went undefeated in the Carlsbad Cup to emerge as the champions of the GU12 bracket. Playing five games in three days, outscoring their opponents 9-2 with two shutouts, including a 2-0 shutout to capture the championship, the U12 Red could not be stopped. Despite very hot and humid weather, playing on a variety of fields, and being scheduled for the early games in pool play, the girls pulled together as a team and came away with the cup. We salute our opponents who fought hard and challenged us in every game, but for this weekend, our girls came together and won as a team. Under Coach Gerry, we look forward to more summer tournament success and we are eager to start the season.
