Visiting Japanese team Friendly

On July 27, 2006, Hickman Field was visited by the Canon Girls Soccer Team from Japan. A stop over in preparation for the Surf Cup to be held the following weekend, our girls were delighted to host a friendly match. With Canon’s precise and accurate skill and passes, our girls held thier ground and took advantage of our speed and quick attack. A 2-1 win proved that American soccer is still #1 in the world. Beautiful goals provided by Megan and Raquel was all that was needed by Notts to take down the Surf Cup entry. A late goal by Japan helped draw the game closer in the final seconds of the contest. Afterwards, the girls were treated to a potluck dinner with all the teams in attendance. Thanks parents for all your help!! After exchanging small gifts, it left a cherishable memory. There isn’t a language barrier in friendship, the girls enjoyed thier short time together.
